ROOTS

We believe that whether you are constructing a building or a business, the key to success and sustainability begins at the foundation with strong roots. At Pacific Sun Construction, nourishing these roots is what keeps us both grounded in inspiration, and growing towards our dreams.

HOW IT ALL BEGAN… 

A DREAM

Our roots began with the planting of a seed, or idea, to start a family business based on our individual skills, our collective experience, and the desire to bring our families together after living more than 2000 miles apart for much of the last 20 years. Jen and Cinnamon, sisters, and Jeff, Jen’s husband, put their heads together to develop the concept. Through months of collaboration, weighing heavily on the unique talents and skills of each family member, ideas were exchanged, concepts were explored, and our seed started to grow.

A VISION

We took our concept and started mapping out a vision for the company. All three having grown up on and around farms in the heart of the Midwest, Lawrence, KS, and Peculiar, MO, it was important to us that we lean strongly into our inherent values of honesty, determination, perseverance, and self-reliance that was ingrained into our upbringing. We knew our shared values and personal accomplishments would carry us forward to create a successful company and leave a legacy that we can be proud of.

 A SYMBOL

An important piece of this vision was selecting a name and a symbol that represents where we have been, where we are headed, and the importance of staying connected to both.

The name Pacific Sun was selected as a metaphor to represent our new venture and the bright and hopeful journey it would take us on. The imagery of the trees and water represents the beauty and abundance of the PNW, hence, symbolizing our future, while the sun, represented by the sunflower which is the state flower of Kansas, pays homage to our past.
